Introducing our pup Riley!

Say hello to Riley!

Hi! I'm Riley and I just moved in. My new momma is always saying, "What a little character!" I think that means she has recognized how smart I am. I am part boxer (which I don't think I will take up professionally) and black lab (whatever that is). My feet seem to be much too big for me and I have been stopped by law enforcement more than once, while on my evening walk, on the suspicion of drunkeness. I have lots and lots of energy and I LOVE my toys. In fact I am demanding that mommy go to the store and purchase some more for my toy basket.

My totally favorite thing to do is go for that evening walk. Since we live in a housing development (see, I told you I was smart) there are plenty of grown ups, other doggy friends, and oddles of children all excited to see me. Our walks take a looooooong time as you can imaging with all that people licking, and puppy butt sniffing going on. (Hey, what can I say, that's how I roll.) It's a great time with all the other doggy people, especially the ones that have the great big puppies that I like to taunt. I can take 'em on, and then I'll kiss 'em all over!

So far things are great at my new house. There is this little slinky cat thing that shows up every once in a while that they call "shy baby" (yeah, stupid cat). She's pretty sneaky, but I'll get her yet! I've already had her food, and a little taste of what she leaves behind in the sand box...not bad. But the momma makes loud noises when I get caught in the act. What!? That cat's not using it anymore...think green!

Awwwwrrrrgghhhhh! I guess it's naptime. Later tatters!

Exhausted!

I know many of you feel the same way. With us it's the heat and humidity. On top of that I have found out that after some travel I picked up a parasite from some bad water, lovely. It hasn't been fun and if I had invested some money into the Charmin stocks a few years back, I would be making money today for sure, if you get my meaning!
So between the heat/humidity and my little friend I have to drink non-stop so I don't dehydrate. It should run it's course in another week thank goodness, but as I say, things could always be worse....thanks for indoor plumbing!

I made a little more progress on Frederick today between running around town and in blogland. There are so many wonderful stitchy sites out there and I can't wait to make some friends. So much to go through as learn as well. I'm loving it!

I guess I should be off to bed now, Riley (my puppy) is waiting to cuddle.

Progress on Frederick

Good afternoon everyone. I have spent the day working on projects around the house and then working on this blog. It takes a bit of time to make up all the image buttons, pages etc. but I enjoy it and love the outcome.

Right now I seem to be writing to the air, lol because I have no followers yet. I am posting my progress on the Carriage House Samplings design "Frederick". Here is how far I have gotten. I'm so excited to get this done and am trying to work on it as much as possible. Then I will have to move on to the matching pattern of Fredericka.

Uh-oh, gotta run, the new puppy has decided that tearing his new bed pillow apart is much more fun than laying on it!

Til next time,

My Three Wips

Frederick by Carriage House Samplings

That title sounds a bit hinky for my first blog post but oh well. The first three cross stitch projects I am working on are Frederick as seen above, Miss Mary Mack by La D da, and the Nora Corbet Fairy letters to spell out my grandaughter's name.

(Grandaughter's name is Ava)

I have finished the inside diamond border on Fred and am working on the black outside border today. The fabric is a toasted almond in 28 ct, and I am using weeks dye works floss. This pattern is relatively simple and I am enjoying stitching it in the evenings. Miss Mary Mack is almost fnished. All I need to do for her is pick up some more black floss to finish the bottom half of her dress. Everything else is finished, and then it will be time to sing my favorite cross stitching finishing song~

Happy, happy, Joy, joy.
Happy, happy, Joy, joy.

Happy, happy, Joy, joy, joy!!

Trust me, what it lacks in lyrics it more than makes up for in leg moves! You can see it in the right hand column.
